Who is Winning the Etsy Primary?
I was the Director of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) from 2006 to 2011. Additionally, I’ve spent nearly 17 years in the political world and have attended events on both sides of the aisle. So, I’ve seen a lot of people support their candidate in a lot of quirky ways. At the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York I wore a I [Heart] GWB t-shirt designed by a friend who worked for Kate Spade at the time. Then in 2012 I rocked a Mitt Romney shirt that used a vintage 60s design used by his dad.
These shirts were awesome because the designs were unexpected and unique.
Thanks to Etsy there are many choices beyond the button or t-shirt. Below are some of my favorites from Etsy.
I assume this was a repurposed item. Maybe it was the Necronomicon from Evil Dead. Either way, kudos to this Etsy entrepreneur for seeing an opportunity, even if it’s a very niche one.
The only person I can imagine wearing these is Ted Cruz. Just kidding. No hate mail, please. If Ted Cruz isn’t your style, the artist also offers Channing Tatum and Marco Rubio.
There are a million uses for brown bags — lunch bags, the ol’ flaming poop on the porch gag, and tasteful luminary bags for your next debate party. Ok, I guess there are actually only three uses for brown bags.
Custom Presidential Candidate Ugg Birdfeeder
Some will joke that this is a better use for Uggs, but I still love my cardy Uggs.
In the 1990s, Hillary Clinton famously said that as First Lady she just wasn’t going to “sit at home and bake cookies.” Even then she was throwing out feminist tropes!
When I look at this I only see Nicholas Cage.
Bernie Sanders is the winner of the Etsy primary and general election by a landslide. His fans have the most choices. I’m so glad I didn’t research a similar article in 2008 or 2012. I suspect I would have found that Obama also won the Etsy election and I really don’t want to think about the possibility of that meaning anything…
