This is a monthly series on my favorite things (binge on 2019: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December and 2020: January, February, March, April, May, June). Sharing these items is an indulgence given all the serious news out there, so I always appreciate your clicks and claps!
With July over, it’s feeling like summer has flown by without any celebration or vacation! I’m hoping to clock in a few hours at the neighborhood pool since my beach vacation isn’t until October. Mostly I’ve been working from home, focusing on weight loss and yoga, and watching YouTube videos. Oh, and some light shopping. For cardio.
By the way, have you checked out the preview the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale? You don’t want to miss my edit of the sale (coming soon). I know for a FACT you won’t see this angle anywhere else. On to my July favorites…
Favorite Clothing Item
Everyone says we’re forever changed after this pandemic. That was certainly true when it came time to put on a normal bra a few weeks ago. After bralettes and sportsbras every day for four months (that was my favorite clothing item last month!), I’m not sure I can ever go back to my typical underwire bra. I ordered several from Soma and Lively and, unfortunately, had to send all back for various reasons. During my weekly Target run, I found this one and it’s perfect. You can’t beat the price!
Favorite Beauty Item
This is my favorite nail polish line when doing my nails at home because it has a flat brush that’s foolproof and it seems to improve the condition of my nails. A good nude polish is hard to find because I don’t want to look dead. This one has a hint of pink, which makes all the difference. My other favorite color is Powder Room. Below is a photo of my actual nails because the photo on the website doesn’t do it justice.
Favorite Household Item
Moving in April was a good opportunity to buy those little things I’ve been putting off buying. This set of laundry hampers is a good buy because you can get a set of two so I can sort as I go.

I devoured this book in just a few days, which happened to be when Twitter had that hack, making it even more freaky! From the description:
An electrifying story of two ambitious friends, the dark choices they make and the stunning moment that changes the world as we know it forever
Orla Cadden is a budding novelist stuck in a dead-end job, writing clickbait about movie-star hookups and influencer yoga moves. Then Orla meets Floss — a striving wannabe A-lister — who comes up with a plan for launching them both into the high-profile lives they dream about. So what if Orla and Floss’s methods are a little shady — and sometimes people get hurt? Their legions of followers can’t be wrong.
Thirty-five years later, in a closed California village where government-appointed celebrities live every moment of the day on camera, a woman named Marlow discovers a shattering secret about her past. Despite her massive popularity — twelve million loyal followers — Marlow dreams of fleeing the corporate sponsors who would do anything to keep her on-screen. When she learns that her whole family history is based on a lie, Marlow finally summons the courage to run in search of the truth, no matter the risks.
Followers traces the paths of Orla, Floss and Marlow as they wind through time toward each other and toward a cataclysmic event that sends America into lasting upheaval. At turns wry and tender, bleak and hopeful, this darkly funny story reminds us that even if we obsess over famous people we’ll never meet, what we really crave is genuine human connection.
I loved the outfit in the thumbnail so much that I recreated it for less than $60! I got the dress from Zara, the sandals from Amazon, and the duster from Amazon. Hopefully, I’ll have a chance to wear it before the end of summer 😂
