My Monthly Lifestyle Favorites — April 2019
This is the sixth in a monthly series on my favorite things (check out November, December, January, February, and March). I love sharing the things that make my life easier and more enjoyable. Sharing these things feels like an indulgence given all the serious writing out there, so I appreciate your clicks and claps!
Favorite Clothing/Shoe Item
I’ve really been trying not to make any new clothing and shoe purchases. Instead of first telling you about an item I’ve bought, let me tell you about Clothes Mentor (click for locations across the country). Doing the KonMari method in my closets (yes, I have overflow in the guest room closets 😬) has revealed lots of clothes that are too big or no longer my style. About once a month I’ve been going to the closest Clothes Mentor to get cash for clothes, handbags, and shoes. They also offer credit, but I take the cash option since I’m trying not to accumulate more clothes during my weight loss. Clothes Mentor doest’t take everything, so I take whatever they don’t buy to Goodwill or a local clothing swap that donates their remainder to RAINN. If you are looking to shop, Clothes Mentor is great because they truly only take quality, stylish items.
There are other options for online consigning, including ThredUp, Poshmark, and eBay. Here are my feelings about them.
ThredUp is great for shopping, not necessarily for selling. If you’re not near a good brick and mortar consignment shop, use it for fast…
